Since 1969, the San Gabriel Valley Literacy Council has provided small group English language and citizenship classes for adult learners in Pasadena and the surrounding communities.

We serve a diverse group of people from around the world, helping them to become more effective and involved parents, workers,  and active members of society.

   MAKE IT POSSIBLE

SGVLC volunteer opportunities are not limited to teaching. We’re always looking for help with marketing, special events, fundraising, and other behind-the-scenes tasks that make our classes possible.

We also graciously accept the assistance of local businesses and civic organizations that provide in-kind services and other support. The generous financial contributions of individuals and groups allow us to provide students and teachers with free textbooks and classroom supplies.
